UnitedHealthcare Therapists in Texas
If you have UnitedHealthcare and you're looking for a counselor in Texas, Neema Counseling can see you online anywhere in the state. Fabian Armenta, LPC, is in network with UnitedHealthcare and currently has openings for new clients, in English or in Spanish.
Neema is the Swahili word for grace, and we hope that finding care you can actually use your insurance for feels like a small piece of it.
Who sees UnitedHealthcare clients
Fabian Armenta, LPC sees adults and couples online throughout Texas, and he is also licensed in Colorado. He is bilingual in English and Spanish, works with adults, couples, and the Latino community from a strength-based approach, and is a good fit for couples who are healing after betrayal.
Fabian is in network with UnitedHealthcare and UMR, along with Aetna, Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Oscar, Ambetter, Lyra, Magellan, Superior, and Medicaid.
Right now our UnitedHealthcare sessions are online, so you can meet with Fabian from home, from your car on a lunch break, or from anywhere else in Texas where you have a private place to talk.
What we help with
Fabian works with adults and couples on the things that tend to bring people to counseling in the first place:
- Anxiety, worry, and stress that has started to crowd out everything else
- Depression, or a heaviness that hasn't lifted
- Grief and major life transitions
- Relationship and marriage struggles, including rebuilding trust after betrayal
- The pressure of carrying family, work, and culture all at once, especially for bilingual and Latino clients
If you'd like your faith to be part of your counseling, it can be. Some clients want to talk about Scripture and how their faith connects to what they're going through, and others simply want a counselor who understands where they're coming from. How much faith comes into your sessions is always up to you.
Using your UnitedHealthcare benefits
Our care coordinator checks your benefits before you're charged anything, so you'll know what to expect before your first session. What you pay depends on your specific plan, including your deductible and copay, and we encourage you to confirm your mental health benefits with UnitedHealthcare as well.
If you would rather not use insurance, or if your plan doesn't cover what you're looking for, sessions with a Licensed Professional Counselor are $175 for the intake, $150 for ongoing individual sessions, and $175 for ongoing couples sessions. We also have some openings for reduced-rate sessions based on household size and income, so please ask us about it if cost is what's holding you back. You can find all of the details on our rates and insurance page.
A note about couples counseling and insurance
Insurance doesn't always cover marriage and couples counseling. Health plans pay for counseling when it is considered medically necessary, so whether couples sessions are covered depends on your plan and on what brings you in. Premarital counseling, for example, is typically not covered. We'll walk through your benefits with you before you begin so there aren't any surprises.
If you'd rather be seen in person
Our UnitedHealthcare sessions are online right now. We do have offices in Austin, near the University of Texas campus, and in Houston, in Spring Branch, and our team there can talk with you about self-pay or other insurance options if meeting in person matters to you. You can also read more about how we work online on our online Christian counseling page.
Starting with a free 15-minute consultation
Your consultation is fifteen minutes with a therapist and is completely free. It's a chance to ask how they work, share a little about what's bringing you in, and get a sense of whether they feel like a good fit before you commit to anything.
You can schedule a free consultation online or call us at 512.669.5701.
